"Pink the Rink" event helps support cancer patients at Dickinson County Health System - UpperMichigansSource.com

IRON MOUNTAIN, Mich. (WLUC) - The Kingsford High School hockey team and the Dickinson County Hospital Foundation teamed up on Saturday to help support Cancer patients.

They hosted "Pink the Rink" Day at the Mountain View Ice Arena. Spectators were encouraged to dress up in pink for the event. Prior to the game, fans could enter a variety of raffles and contests.

Funds raised at today's game will purchase blankets for cancer patients at Dickinson County Healthcare System.

"As the director of the hospital foundation, I couldn't be more proud to live in our community where we really care about our friends and our neighbors, and to have such a great showing, and the community really comes out and supports this, and all of our friends and neighbors who are in treatment at the local hospital, we let them know that we care," Tamara Juul, Executive Director of Dickinson County Healthcare System.

The Kingsford hockey team wore special pink jerseys for the game against the Gaylord Blue Devils. Following the game, the jerseys were also auctioned off to support the cause.
